Mixmag Releases Results Of Greatest Dance Music Act Of All Time

Mixmag ran a contest from September to December asking fans to decide who is the greatest dance music act of all time?  Thousands voted and the results are in.  The Prodigy has taken number one on the chart, with Daft Punk in at number two followed by the Chemical Brothers.  Personally, we would have taken Kraftwerk at number one, but they came in at eight.  This list goes to show you that dance music does tend to cater to a younger crowd, and many of them were not around when acts like Underworld and Orbital were ruling dancefloors.  From the press release:

Keith Flint of The Prodigy commented: “To walk off a stage and feel like we smashed it – that’s the reward for us, to see the crowd react and know we’ve done what we’ve come to do. But something like this is truly voted for by the people – and essentially we are nothing without them, so it feels awesome and really respectful.”

May the arguments commence (you all know how these polls go…..)

    Not a bad list honestly. Prodigy definitely deserves credit for producing some of the best electronic music ever. Not sure how deadmau5 ended up so high on that list.
