The Winter Music Conference, the premier U.S. music festival (we still love you Electric Zoo!) dates have been announced. Taking place in Miami (even though there were rumors of moving it to Vegas because of low numbers), this years festival will take place on March 23rd to the 27th.
This wasn't really a surprise to anyone though, as this has been the date (for the most part) for the past few years now. Though we haven't gone down there in a few years (we're getting old I guess), it's...

We haven't heard the last yet of Steve Porter's ingenious Slap Chop remix video. Though this was aired over the summer, it looks like Steve's YouTube phenominom made it to Fox News, and apparently, he's making quite a lot of money off of it. After making this video, which at this point, has over six million hits, Steve was approached to do similar videos for some major companies. To add, he's also had a lot of fame with the sports spoof he did featuring the likes of Alan Iverson and Joe...

They Call It Acid is a new movie currently being showcased in cinemas in New York which gives you a trip through the birth and uprising of Acid House in Europe and the United States. We will let the synopsis from the site speak for itself:

In a surprising gig announcement, Blkmarket Membership has announced on their Facebook page that Sasha will do an event for them on Friday, November 6th. The location, which will be a secret as always until two days before the event, is a curve ball considering they tend to book less big name acts and shoot more for the underground techno scene.
The DJ's for the night will of course be Sasha, DJ Three, along with Fahad (Blkmarket Membership) and Taimur (Blkmarket Membership). If you want...

It looks like one of the best after hours parties in Brooklyn, "The Shank" has seen better days. The party which runs all hours of the night in a large studio on Bayard Street has been filled with drug dealers and thugs who have overran the place, and in the process, drove away the party'ers who made the party a party in the first place.
From the article: Fueled by word-of-mouth, it didn’t take long for the club to blow up. The sprawling 8,000 square feet of usable studio space was located...

It looks like our beloved Studio B might be closing its doors once again, but this time for good. We had reported here a few times that the club was facing a possible closure, but they had managed to stay open. The club has been fighting with neighbors and the community board ever since they opened up their roof to club goers. Neighbors complained of excessive noise, garbage piling up out front, and underage drinking just to name a few.
Just last week, the North Brooklyn Community Board...

Yea... you read that right, you can order your own keg. Superdive, set to be the ultimate dive bar in Manhattan, has just opened in the East Village, and patrons have the option of ordering a keg. We couldn't find any price information, but all you have to do is order one of the kegs they have available, and they will wheel out a kegerator to your table. You can also do pretty much anything else you want, including going behind the bar and mixing your own drinks and hijacking the iPod and...
