One of the most highly anticipated mixes every year for us, John Digweed on Wednesday uploaded the recording from his 12th annual Sunset Cruise from this years Winter Music Conference. The event in Miami saw him joined by Nick Warren, Denis A, and Jozif for over four hours of bedlam aboard the Lady Windridge yacht. The music is downtempo, deep, groovy house centric to be expected from an sunny afternoon swaray aboard a million plus dollar floating vessel in the ultra chic South Beach. Tickets traditionally have been difficult to get with the party usually consisting of industry folks and the popularity since its inception in 2001 has made a declarative statement as the party to be at during Winter Music Conference week (and no we are not referring to Ultra Week).

Most of you probably don’t remember the last Digweed/Tenaglia tag team that took place at Twilo some 12 years ago but that shouldn’t stop anyone from being excited about two of the worlds best coming together to play this summer at Governers Island Beach Club on Governers Island this August 11th. The good folks over at Made Event were good enough to book the even with Sleepy & Boo holding down opening honors. Normally out of respect for all the promoters who post events here we do not put up events on the main feed, but we consider this to be a special event and thus here it is. You can head over to www.madeevent.com for more info as it becomes available.
No one played more of Slacker’s tracks years ago than John Digweed. John posted on his Facebook page today that he’ll be celebrating the life of Slacker by playing a 60 minute mix Slacker did for him years ago entitled “Obsessive Sounds.” You can check it out on John’s weekly Transitions show which airs on Proton Radio for those of us not in the UK.
Great article we were linked to done by DMC Magazine with Bedrock boss John Digweed. John discusses why vinyl is a think of the past, his favorite DJ compilations of all time, and who we all should be watching out for in the future. You can check it out by clicking here.
John Digweed Structures 2 Contest
John Digweed’s Structure’s Two was released to the world on Monday, and to celebrate, John and Beatport are teaming up for a mix competition. The contest is simple: create a 30 minute mix inspired by the tracks that were released with the comp. To make things interesting, Beatport has some of the DJ Tools from the release for you to work into your mix (be sure to snag them now, because after the contest ends, you’ll be paying for them).
